30 COUNTRIES, 420 IDEAS, 20 WINNERS.

Big Challenges, No Shortage of Ideas.

The Technologies for Financial Inclusion Program has selected the best 20 ideas, out of 420 applying to the first Call: a diverse portfolio of technology solutions proposals, combining innovation, inclusion and financial services, such as micro-insurance, credits, remittances and savings. The second phase of the Program is about to start, when the 20 winning ideas will receive support to develop a business plan, with measurable results.

The Program’s Selection Committee included representatives from the Multilateral Investment Fund (Fomin), Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Corporación Andina de Fomento (CAF), Consultative Group to Assist the Poor (CGAP) - World Bank, DAI, and Groupe Spécial Mobile Association (GSMA).

The high number of submitted ideas and registered users on the Program’s digital platform, as well as the maturity and competitiveness of the proposals, prove the success of this event. The process was very competitive and took into account the feasibility of the proposed ideas and their potential impact in promoting financial inclusion, among other criteria. The 20 winning ideas will be announced next week.

The Program invites interested institutions to stay in touch through its digital platform www.tec-in.org and social networks (Facebook, Twitter and Linked In), sharing information, views and suggestions.
