The Department of Commerce recommended that parts of the radio spectrum used federal agencies be released to support the growing use of mobile devices: the government of President Barack Obama promised to release 500 megahertz in June, for the next 10 years, to keep pace with the growing demand of mobile services for laptops and smartphones.
